The best stories of this night weren’t only the celebratory moments we had when we registered a new teen voter. Some of my favorites were the amazing personal conversations we had with the Mason residents.

On July 3rd, MasonVotes hosted a voter registration drive at Mason’s annual Red Rhythm Boom event, where thousands of Mason residents came out to celebrate July 4th. With this being our 1st booth event, it came with a lot of complications. For one, setting up the tent. Second, getting the table to stand. Third, surviving the melting heat without enough water bottles. Thankfully, after a Walmart & Chipotle run, we pulled through!

During the event, we got to meet hundreds of Mason residents and get to know them one-on-one! It was such a great experience conversing with voters and learning about how their background and experience in life influenced their political views. Truly, listening and conversing with people from all different walks of life was such a transformative experience! Also, whenever we stumbled across an unregistered high schooler senior, we cheered and clapped! I don’t think my face has ever hurt from smiling that much.

Super proud of our team for the effort and hard work we put into making this event successful! Cannot wait to host more drives and learn more about the Mason community we love so much.

If you haven’t already, make sure you register at https://olvr.ohiosos.gov/ before October 7th, 2024, for the presidential election in November! Let’s empower the youth vote together.
